Telehandler Parts

around the web

Parts for Telehandlers - The telescopic handler or telehandler is a commonly used equipment in agricultural and industrial applications. This particular machine is similar in look to a forklift and even works in a similar manner, although telehandlers are much more like a crane than forklift. It has a telescopic boom that could extend upward and forwards from the motor vehicle. The boom has the capability to fit one of various attachments like a bucket, a lift table, muck grab or pallet forks.

Pallet tines are the most popular accessory meant for the telehandler. This particular equipment is commonly used for transporting loads to and from sites which a conventional lift truck would find inaccessible. Telehandlers are particularly useful for placing loads on rooftops for example, or for removing palletized cargo from with a trailer. A lot of the tasks that a telehandler can carry out would otherwise need a crane and this machine can be expensive, not practical and not always time efficient.

The boom acts as a lever, raising and extending while bearing a load. Even if there are rear counterweights, this may cause the telehandler to become more unbalanced. Thus, the greatest advantage of the telehandler is also its greatest limitation. As the working radius increases, the lifting capacity lessens. The working radius is defined as the distance between the front of the wheels and the center of the load.

For instance, a telehandler with a 5000 lb capacity with the boom retracted could safely lift as little as 400 lb once it is completely extended at a low boom angle. The equivalent machine that has a 5000 lb lift capacity and the boom retracted could support up to 10,000 lb with the boom raised to 70 degrees. The operator has a load chart to help determine whether a specific lifting task can be done in an efficient and safe manner. This particular chart takes into consideration the boom angle, the weight and height.

Lots of telehandlers come equipped together with a computer which utilizes sensors to be able to monitor the vehicle. These sensors would alert the operator and some are capable of cutting off further control input if the limits of the motor vehicle are exceeded. Several telehandler types are likewise outfitted with front outriggers that are known as mobile cranes. These really extend the lifting capacity of the apparatus while it is stationary.
